Starbucks Partners with Microsoft to Deploy AI Assistant for Baristas
Starbucks is piloting a generative AI assistant powered by Microsoft''s Azure OpenAI platform across 35 U.S. locations. Dubbed ''Green DOT Assist,'' the technology aims to streamline operations and reduce service times to four minutes per order—a key initiative under CEO Brian Niccol.
The coffee chain showcased the system to 14,000 North American managers in June, with plans for broader U.S./Canada deployment this autumn. The MOVE comes as Starbucks seeks to revitalize stagnant sales through technological innovation in its frontline operations.
